Name Unknown asked: I plan to invest in no load mutual funds (s&p 500 index funds) for wealth accumulation and open up an IRA account for retirement. There’s many brokerages I’ve heard of like Edward Jones, Vanguard, Janus, Fidelity, Charles Schwab, TD Waterhouse/Ameritrade, E*Trade, Sharebuilder, Scottrade, etc.
Though I heard ShareBuilder rips people off. I plan to start with between 2K – 2500K each for both my Mutual Fund account and IRA account.
Which brokerages are better for both long term and which one is better for both additonal income and growth?
Plus I’ve never invested before though I’ve gotten alot of advice from people who’ve been investing for 10 years plus I watch the Suze Orman show and I research when I can but frankly I don’t think anything will make sense until I start investing…
Create a video blog…instantly.

redleg510 asked: If you can’t cash out, where do you move your money? I’m currently in bonds and healthcare funds.
I use a Schwab account, and all my funds are no-fee/ no transaction fee. I moved my $$$ from International to my current funds to be more conservative.

npbassman asked: I have moved an IRA to another broker but it turns out that I cannot apply my monthly contribution to one of the funds because they do not offer it. Is it wise to sell this fund and then buy one that I can contribute to or should I just leave it alone?

spencer r asked: alright, i’ve decided for awhile now that i need to open up an IRA. i’m 19, and feel that it would be awesome to open one up at my age. i did a little bit of research and decided that a ROTH IRA seemed to be worth its weight in gold, and that i would open it up at an Edward Jones office, which is run by someone i know and trust. but now having read some other things i’m not so sure. i’m hearing other options like “rollover IRA” and seeing all thse options of WHERE i can open it up.
what IRA is going to get me the most gain safely, and where should i do it? i liked the thought of a ROTH (seeing how i pay taxes on it while i invest, not when i go to cash it at the ripe age of 59) but can someone tell me the difference between different IRA’s and which is the best one to go for based on the most gain…safely?
